Fashion Doll Photos

celtic deja vu 2

This is my version of a celtic deja vu, my inspiration was Martha Boers and here's her website  Martha is fabulous and I hope I did this look some justice.  I made everything except the shoes, stockings, wig and charms hanging on her purse.

Amazing! The fabric you used is beautiful and her hair looks very authentic. Did you style the wig yourself?
    • Thank you. Yes, I styled the hair... it's a mohair wig I bought on ebay and I used a needle and thread and literally sewed the hair to it's self in places to make some of the pieces stay put... so easy... a bunch of it is pulled back, the braids are secured with thread wrapped at the bottom... I've admired the mohair wigs used on bjd dolls so thought I'd give one a try on a fashion doll... works!
  • Tilly!!! This photo is incredible. Don't know if you added some effect to it but it looks like an oil painting. The dress is simply delightful. And the pose is so natutal looking. If I just may suggest something, try not to cut the shoes out of the photo, that is... just to make the shot impecable. Other than that I think you're sewing and photographic skills are an inspiration. Braaaaaaavo!!!!!!!
    • Wow, thank you... it was too dark and I had to lighten it a bit... I wasn't happy with any of the photos I took. I'm going to try, again, tomorrow in natural sunlight.
    • Believe me, there's not much you can do to beat this one. You might get a much sharper one, or better lit one, but the ambience you created to match the outfit and the doll's expression, even without planning it, is really hard to repeat. I simply loooooove this way!!
