Val, you take it easy. Your re-roots are great. You put a lot into each one and that shows.
Thanks for the nice comments on my Muffy. I think I just have a trauma now -lol
Lulemee, I respect those profesional re-rooters.
Comment by Chataine/Val on May 9, 2012 at 12:44 Hi Nilsa, You did a great job of your Muffy girl.. She looks so gorgeous.. I agree with Lulemee - rerooting takes a long time to do properly.. Lulemee's OOAK creations are truly fabulous.. When I am well I likererooting - I get alot of satisfaction in rerooting a silkstone in the original hairstyle - just in a different color and it is a great way to learn how to create different hairstyles too.. Here is one of my silkie reroots I did ages ago.. With my illness I have only just started rerooting again as therapy and to give me something to work towards..but it is now a very slow and painful process.. but one plug at a time - hopefully I will get through this reroot in a month or so.. I used to be much quicker before my illness.. but being able to do some is better than not being able to do anything..
..Val
Comment by Lulemee on April 20, 2012 at 18:29 Rerooting is really time stealing, even the experts need some hours to make a full reroot! I don´t have the patience for rerooting, so I´m always searching for dolls with the right facemold AND the right hair for my OOAKs... that is really anoying
Comment by Annie nicole Bowles on April 20, 2012 at 1:58 it's important to use good brushes. I just bought some soft brushes and love them. Doing eye is hard cuss they are so tiny. use good lighting and a steady hand. I'm no expert I have repainted all the dolls that i have up. It's been fun that the important part have fun :) hope this helps good luck. re rooting is taking me a while too I'm am working on one slowly not in a hurry I wish i had abetter hook that was not broken lol I guess i'll get one when i really want to finish the re root.
Comment by Annie nicole Bowles on April 20, 2012 at 1:49 you can do it i just started a few months ago. :) keep it up susan
Thanks Lulemee for your comment about my silkie.
So far I'm not willing to do it again!
Oh painting is tough!
I don't dare LOL -
Susan, you are brave. Keep practicing!
Comment by Susan Cottrell on April 20, 2012 at 1:34 It's alright Lulemee; I was more careful on my second one and am now preparing my third by doing my first re-root; exciting ehh? Here's a picture of the second repaint:
I still need a lot of practice, but it's coming along. I wish I could get through this re-root faster, but I haven't gotten a good technique down I guess, because I keep having to un-nest my hair after I put a plug in. I'm using Tina's (Dollyhair.com) tool that she developed and her tutorial with some other notes from other artists. It would just be nice to have someone over my shoulder to help me along, but I can do it.
Comment by Lulemee on April 19, 2012 at 22:59 I´m so sorry,I realized that I didn´t comment on Susan´s Cindy! I hope you had fun making her! Just go on, you will become better each time! Try to use a little less paint next time, than you can paint smoother... and I really like the beauty spot! And her hairstlyle is absolutely stunning as well as the juwelry!
Comment by Lulemee on April 19, 2012 at 22:52 oh, silkstone rerooting is tough...but she looks great! I love the outfit, wish I had something like this for myself
